Cashmere is a delicate natural fibre that becomes even more beautiful when treated with care. We recommend airing your cashmere vest between wears rather than washing it too often. After wearing, lay it flat in a well-ventilated space and allow the fibres to rest.
When washing is needed, hand wash in cold water using a gentle wool or cashmere detergent. Avoid twisting, rubbing, or wringing the fabric. Rinse carefully, then press out excess water by rolling the vest in a clean towel.
Always dry cashmere flat on a towel, away from direct sunlight or heat. Reshape gently while damp to help maintain the original silhouette.
For wool, merino, and blended knit vests, always check the care label first. Most knitwear benefits from minimal washing and regular airing. If washing at home, use cold water, a gentle detergent, and a delicate hand wash method.
Avoid hanging knitwear while wet, as this can stretch the fibres and distort the shape. Instead, dry flat and reshape carefully.
For structured or heavier knit vests, professional dry cleaning may be recommended to preserve the garment’s finish.
Pilling is a natural part of wearing soft knitwear, especially with cashmere, wool, and brushed fibres. It usually appears in areas of friction, such as under the arms, at the sides, or where a bag rubs against the garment.
To remove pills, gently use a cashmere comb or fabric shaver. Work slowly and lightly, without pressing too hard. Regular gentle care will help keep the surface smooth and refined.
Always fold your vest rather than hanging it. Hanging can stretch the shoulders and alter the shape over time.
Store knitwear clean and completely dry in a drawer, breathable cotton bag, or storage box. For longer-term storage, keep pieces away from direct sunlight and use cedar blocks or lavender sachets to help protect natural fibres.
